About Carlisle Reivers Cycling Club

Carlisle Reivers Cycling Club was established in 2015 to encourage social riding for adults (18+) in and around Carlisle and North Cumbria. We aim to provide a safe but enjoyable cycling experience that supports our members to meet their own cycling challenges at all levels.

As we have grown we have developed affiliations with British Cycling and Cycling Time Trials and support our members in both social and competitive cycling including time trials and racing.

The club provides a chance to meet new cycling companions, to find new cycle routes and to be the best cyclist that you want to be.

Although our organised rides are predominately road cycling our members include gravel and mountain biking enthusiasts. You don’t have to have the fanciest bike, but we guarantee there’ll be plenty of bike chat. If you have a question about bike maintenance, there’ll be someone in the club to answer it. If you want to train better, there’ll be advice if you want it.

If you ride with the Reivers we can guarantee you two things; firstly you won’t be dropped and secondly we know all the best café stops.

  • Ride Leaders

An official club ride is one which adheres to British Cycling standards for risk assessment and has a ride leader.

Our Ride Leaders are essential to the operation of the club. Each is a confident rider, knows the route and has at least basic first aid training. The ride leader is there to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for all.
